A small but perfectly formed Team JSTKD headed off to the Southern Tae Kwon Do Championships on Saturday 30th September with outstanding results. Rhys Doel, Alex Munn and brothers Zac and Joe Grinter travelled to Paignton where their small team made a big impact.
Two new champions were crowned as Zac and Alex overpowered their opponents, not only with the accuracy of their kicks but also by employing some clever strategies in the Boys Blue Belt Peewee and Lightweight sparring events respectively.
Rhys was on next in the Boys Black Belt Middleweight sparring and stormed through the first few rounds before taking a nasty kick to the body. However, he wasn’t going to let that stop him as he composed himself and claimed the bronze. Joe also had to overcome a challenge in the Boys Yellow Belt Tiny Tots sparring. He had to deal with a very persistent nosebleed which had started before he’d even sat food on the mat. Despite this, he impressed the referees with his determination to carry on and was rewarded with a much deserved bronze.
Well done boys – superb effort all round 🙂
