Midlands Championships 2018

Wow! What a fantastic result for our Team JSTKD Warriors last weekend (4 Feb) – 3 new champions, a silver and 2 bronzes plus some great performances all round from our other members.

Our team made the journey to Kettering, Northamptonshire and as you can see, they certainly didn’t leave empty handed.  Those taking part were Harri, Zak, Joe, Alex, Rhys, Menna, Jessica, Emily, Alisha and Darcy and as usual they represented us brilliantly.

So who got those Championship golds?  Well it was a case of the ‘The Boys are Back in Town’!  In our photo, you can see Harri Burmingham who put on an absolutely storming display to take the Boys Lightweight Black Belt title – if they did a TKD version of Match of the Day, you’d be seeing Harri on your TV’s without a doubt 🙂   Also, grabbing gold in the Boys Blue Belt Peewee division was Zak Grinter who has now won four consecutive titles, which you have to agree, is pretty impressive!  Rounding off our trio is younger brother Joe Grinter who also notched up another title as he claimed the top spot in the Boys Green Belt Tiny Tots.  As always, Alex Munn was his usual fearless self as he reached the finals of the Boys Blue Belt Lightweights where he claimed the silver.  Meanwhile, Rhys Doel showed us what a trooper he is, as despite taking a very heavy knock (which he needed treatment for), he still managed to take the bronze in the Boys Black Belt Middleweights.   Flying the flag for the girls, Jessica Doogue put in a great performance to clinch the bronze in the Girls Red Belt Peewees.

A very HUGE well done to everyone who took part and fought so bravely 🙂
